Career in Law | Law Entrance Exams 2022

These days, things have changed; law is slowly becoming all-encompassing, its scope having widened to cover practically every field, and hence career in law are becoming increasingly popular.

Career in Law

Besides civil and criminal law, now there are successful career possibilities in areas like corporate, patents, international, human rights, and environmental law.

1) Corporate Law

Corporate law is fast becoming the rage, accompanied, as it is, by the glamour and riches of the corporate world. A corporate lawyer acts as advisor to the corporation and its officers, regarding their legal rights, duties and liabilities. He ensures the legality of their transactions, covering regular contracts, patents, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, etc. A career in corporate law offers greater stability of income, as against a career as an independently practicing lawyer.

2) Patents Law

Patents law, also known as Intellectual Property law, is another field which is increasing in importance as a specialized law career. With scientific progress and experimentation going ahead in leaps and bounds, there are new inventions and discoveries being made every day. As scientists and inventors would not normally be familiar with the intricacies of law, and legalese, they depend heavily on the patent lawyer to draft the appropriate claims and contracts.

3) Environmental Law

In today’s world, where global warming and concern for the environment are burning issues, Environmental law is yet another area which is of growing significance in a career in law. It seeks to prevent or minimize damage to the environment in any form, to enforce its preservation, and to prevent its deterioration or depletion.

4) International Law

As people, and companies, traverse boundaries, and spread out all over the world, International law is one more specialization option for a career in law. Law suits and litigation no longer being restricted to one country, international law is becoming increasingly important.
